HTB has been endeavoring to create varieties of events providing "a forum for sharing impressive moments" and "cultural advances" in sports and entertainment to the people of Hokkaido.
In the filed of sports, we broadcast the HTB Cup International Ski Jump Competition and the world-renowned snowboard event, TOYOTA BIG AIR.
Musically, we hosts artistic event series for young generation, “Yumechika LIVE” every month, also operas, classical concerts and a nightlong "HTB Asahi Silvester Concert", ringing in each New Year in Sapporo.
In winter we build a giant snow sculpture in the "HTB Snow Square" at the "Sapporo Snow Festival," Hokkaido's feature winter event.
We also sponsor Sapporo's fasting growing event, the "Yosakoi Soran Festival" in early summer, entertaining thousands of citizens and tourists.
To enrich your lives HTB will continue to deliver original and entertaining events.
JET-TV
From March 1997, broadcast via JET satellite, a regular one-hour information program, the "Hokkaido Hour," has promoted Hokkaido throughout Asia. Conveying Hokkaido's charm to East Asia, this popular program created a Hokkaido-boom among Taiwanese tourists. Highly acclaimed as a leading example, it was awarded the National Land Agency's "21st Century Grand Design".
Terrestrial Digital Data Broadcast
In January 1998 HTB started the first Japanese regional data broadcast "CLARK". Utilizing this data broadcast, a number of advanced industry and government projects were initiated. During the volcanic eruption of Mt. Usu in 2000, information sharing and support for victims via the network was commended by The National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan.
In march 2006, as the start of terrestrial digital broadcast, CLARK transmission was terminated.
Internet Web Site
HTB web site provides programming and event information as well as transmitting Hokkaido's daily happenings via the noon and nightly HTB News. In addition to HTB Archives of special news features, the public can also access detailed local information about Hokkaido's 212 municipalities and natural treasures. In response to the e-commerce movement, we launched internet shopping site < htbshop.jp > which distribute DVDs and souvenir merchandises, featuring “Onchan”, HTB corporate character.
Library Business and DVD Production
With its vast image library and advanced digital technology, HTB expects to make various advancements in DVD software production and applications. In March 2003, initial sales of the DVD "Suiyou Dou Deshou" (How do you like Wednesday?) ranked 5th on DVD's hit chart and 46,000 copies of the first edition sold out.
