Introducing the poetry of nature itself: winter “Drift Ice” of Okhotsk. This area during the winter season is full of interesting activities. MC Li Qiang travels this week’s adventure alone! First, a cruise on the “Drift Ice Icebreaker Aurora”, ripping its way through the ice layered on the ocean. At the “Okhotsk Drift Ice Musem”, we learn of how the ice blocks are born, to how they travel 1000km all the way to Hokkaido, as well as study more of the drift ice’s secrets. Li Qiang, a beginner at fishing, tries to catch Wakasagi fish at Memanbetsu Lake. What a result he gets! At World Heritage Site Shiretoko, we join the “Winter Shiretoko 5 Lakes Snowshoeing” tour. Be moved by sights you never see in the summer! Lastly, put on a dry suit, and walk into the drift ice itself! How would you like to bathe in the mid-winter ocean of Okhotsk yourself? Moreover, can you hear the mysterious cries of the Drift Ice when so close? Don’t miss it!

≪Feature≫As Only Winter Shines☆Heart-struck! A Trip to Tokachi

A region exceptionally cold in Hokkaido is the Tokachi area. At the “Obihiro Ice Festival”, beautiful ice and snow sculptures create a fantasy world, glimmering brightly despite the cold. MCs Li Qiang and Isis wake up early with -20℃, to watch the morning training of the large Banei horses at the “Obihiro Racehorse” tracks. They are awed with the powerful and mystical sight. Then, at “Tokachimura Direct Farming Market” they try the rare delicacies, “Milk Ramen” and “Tomato Shiruko”, a sweet bean soup. What a treat! At Lake Shikaribetsu, they make their very own ice glass, and experience a hot bath over the frozen lake! Under a full starry sky, they are delighted to watch a sound and light Fantasy Show called “Sairinka”. Finally, they scream their joy out loud as they snow raft into the darkness in sub-zero temperatures. What a thrilling ride!

≪Feature≫LOVE HOKKAIDO Special Edition ~Hokkaido Dream Game Show Part4~

Teams comprised of two members each were selected from an audition that was held at five different Asian countries and regions. For the first leg of the game, teams competed through various games and quizzes with Hakodate as the first stage, and after heading north to Abashiri, their adventure continues to Sapporo for the last stage of the game. The teams are given some pocket money to shop at Hokkaido's famous shopping mall “Rera Outlet Mall”, and before the last stage of the game, the participants are sent to Hokkaido's Historical Government Office for a field trip. The final stage of the game takes place at the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium. Teams receive 10 points in advance for answering questions correctly during a quiz battle. Teams compete with all their might, but in the end, all 10 participants find much more than a trophy, something much more significant thanks to their trip here in Hokkaido.

≪Feature≫LOVE HOKKAIDO Special Edition ~Hokkaido Dream Game Show Part3~

Five teams of two that love Hokkaido become our contestants after having auditions in 5 major countries in Asia. The contestants will compete by answering questions and playing games as they travel around Hokkaido from their first stage in Hakodate, to the last stage in Sapporo. The team that earns the most points through each stage will win. The fifth stage of “Hokkaido Dream Show” is held in Abashiri city, where floating ice over the ocean comes very close to the shore. All participants are surprised to be able to touch the ice at “Okhotsk Sea Ice Museum”. All teams compete in a “Right or Wrong” game, while trying to escape from Abashiri prison, which was actually used during the Meiji Era. The sixth stage is held in Asahikawa. Contestants were excited to see cute animals up close at the popular “Asahiyama Zoo”. Asahikawa is also famous for its delicious ramen. That’s why we had to make it into a battle stage, called “Ramen Tailing”. The objective is to find the ramen shops in the photos drawn at random by each team. Whoever finds the shop sooner gets more points. This was also a chance that gave each team a chance to dig into this popular delicacy of Asahikawa ramen, some even had more than one bowl! With passion overflowing in each contestant’s heart, they prepare themselves for the next and final stage, in Sapporo City next week! Don’t miss it!

≪Feature≫LOVE HOKKAIDO SPECIAL: The Hokkaido Dream Game Show, Part 2

Five auditions were held in different countries and regions around Asia, to select a total of 10 participants split in five teams, each contestant very eager to show their great love for Hokkaido. While they travel all over Hokkaido, they are challenged to quizzes and games. The team that wins the most points is awarded the grand title of "Hokkaido Dream Game Show" Winner! Stage 3 of this challenging game show is held in Obihiro City. Contestants first enjoy souvenir shopping at the local favorite, Tokachi-Mura. Obihiro City is the central town of the Tokachi region, and is well known to be a large support to Hokkaido’s agriculture. Famous for delicious dishes and the rare one and only stunning horse race of “Banei Keiba” can be enjoyed there. The teams enjoy their lodging at “Tokachigawa Onsen”, which is “Moor Hot Spring”. It is also chosen as a Hokkaido heritage under the name of "Onsen of Beauty", so it is a high recommendation for anyone who wants to beautify their skin! Stage 4 of the games takes place in Akan Town of Kushiro City. Lake Akan is famous for its naturally grown “Marimo”, which is a “Moss Ball” or “Lake Ball”. At Ainu Kotan located near the Lake, we learn about traditional Ainu handicrafts and customs. After this battle stage, contestants visit the “Lake Akan Ainu Theatre Ikoro” and watch traditional Ainu dances, filled with awe as they discover the beautiful wonders of Ainu culture. Which team will finish with the most points this week? What awaits them at the next stage? Which country representatives will be called the winner of "Hokkaido Dream Game Show"?
