Join us this week as we explore the beautiful area around Kuriyama! We first go and visit a special place where we see a large baseball item collection filled with many special items. There all kinds of paraphernalia such as bats, protective gear and baseball uniforms. We then go to a special memorial hall where we can see many sake related historical items. Lastly, we go and check out a confectionary shop where delicious traditional confectionary are sold. They sell a delicious, special type of dango. "Yumepirika" is a representative of Hokkaido rice and has been rated grade A which is given only to selected rice. It has also recently been exported overseas.
Li Qiang will talk about the secrets of this delicious Hokkaido rice in this series.
In this first part, we went to Kamikawa Agricultural Experiment Station (Shikenjo), where Yumepirika rice was developed. From the angle of research and development, we discover the secrets of the delicious taste of Hokkaido rice.
