MC Li Qiang hops on the Hakodate tram to arrive at Hakodate Eki Mae Station, where he discovers 280 different stalls offering delicious ingredients at Hakodate's Asaichi Morning Market. Hakodate is most famous for seafood, vegetables, fruit products and fun souvenirs.

At Aonagi Machi station, Li Qiang visits the beautiful and old-fashioned Hakodate Park "Kodomo no Kuni" where Japan's oldest Ferris wheel is located.

Meanwhile, MC Isis and Announcer Sakamoto visit one of Aomori's famous tourist locations, “Tsugaruhan Neputa Village”. They learn about the history of the Neputa, enjoy some taste testing, and collect some souvenirs to take back home.

≪Feature≫Searching for Spring, Tsugaru Strait Special –Part 1

June 07,2015OA

Our Spring Tsugaru Strait Special (Part 1) takes us to Hakodate’s Goryokaku, and Aomori’s Hirosaki Park. These two locations are famous in Japan for their Cherry Blossoms (Sakura), which we are delighted to share with you! At Hirosaki Park you can enjoy 52 different kinds of Sakura Trees. The style of “Hanami” (Cherry blossom viewing; a custom in Japan), is also quite different when comparing Hokkaido and Aomori. A unique color of the culture is found in each location. MC Li Qiang takes a stroll through the city of Hakodate by riding a streetcar that has been operating since the Taisho era until the early Showa era; what a fun flashback! He is moved by the taste of “Karakusakan”, an authentic French Restaurant that aims to cook with the best of the four seasons’ ingredients which Hokkaido offers. MC Isis and Announcer Sakamoto explore the first recorded World Heritage Site in Japan, “Shirakami-Sanchi”. There they are challenged to trek through the fresh new greens of spring. We say challenge because they reach new heights climbing trees, and even slide down snow hills using sturdy Japanese rice bags. With loud laughter in the middle of a forest, we fully enjoy the thrills and seasonal sights of the land!
