It’s our first time on the show to visit Shimokawa Town in northern Hokkaido, a town rich in nature with 90% of its area covered by forests. In Shimokawa is where we try the recently booming activity “River Walking.” As we walk along a beautiful mountain stream, we get lost in the search for valuable “treasures!” What beautiful scenery awaits us at the goal?
We also try out woodworking! We make “something” out of the wood scraps from wood that is made into products. Yurie-chan, a bit of a clumsy character, struggles with the unfamiliar “planing” of the wood.
Speaking of Shimokawa Town, you can't miss the gourmet food! The popular “Tenobe-Udon” or hand-pulled udon noodles, sold 2,000 bowls in just two days at an event. We have to try it on this trip!
