≪Feature≫Let’s Enjoy Eniwa City!

July 26,2015OA

This week we stretch our legs a little bit further from Sapporo City to a “the city of flowers”, Eniwa.
At “Road Stop Flower Road Eniwa” (Michi no Eki Hana Road Eniwa), we try some of the 60 varieties of breads the bakery has available for sale. Particularly popular are the breads that use “Ebisu Pumpkin”, a specialty grown in the town.
We visit an area known for its gorgeous gardening “Megumi no Chiku”, to find spectacular gardens available for viewing in the homes of the townspeople. Keeping in mind the proper manners while viewing the flowers at these private homes, we find jaw-dropping dreamlike gardens overflowing with life.
At the popular Gelato shop “Gerateria Gigi”, we indulge in a taste comparable to Italy’s original!
Next, we are thrilled to try ‘sports fishing’ at “10 pound”. After being taught the basics of lure fishing, MCs Li Qiang and Isis decide to compete to see how many they can catch. Who do you think will win?
Finally, after catching some fish to eat, the two enjoy a barbeque outdoors taking in the vast nature surrounding them. What a treat to taste the fish you caught yourself, in Hokkaido’s great scenery!

≪Feature≫The Ocean! The Mountains! Activities in the Gorgeous Sights of Otaru

July 19,2015OA

This week MC Li Qiang has a great time with outdoor activities in beautiful Otaru!
First, we enjoy the ocean sights. A short cruise 30 minutes from Otaru port takes you to a fantastic blue cave. The incredible yet mysterious natural shine of the ocean welcomes all visitors. Li Qiang also enjoys fishing on his way back to the port.
For the mountain activity, we visit Otaru’s symbol Tengu Mountain. You can play with cute chipmunks, and ride down the “Tengu Mountain Slider” for an exciting thrill!
What trip is there without food? Otaru’s soul food is “Otaru Ankake Yakisoba” (sauce fried noodles). Special noodles with plenty of ingredients for toppings as well as a delicious sauce, puts Li Qiang in a daze; it’s too good for words!
Please watch to experience a new side to Otaru full of activities for everyone to enjoy.

≪Feature≫Sapporo's Nature-Filled Backyard, Jozankei is Beautiful

July 18,2015OA

This week on Love Hokkaido, we enjoy a ride on a one-day bus trip to the hot spring area of Jozankei.
Jozankei Hot Springs is a total of three areas: Jozankei, Koganeyu, and Hoheikyo, each with unique traits to their hot spring waters.
In the Jozankei area, you can make your very own delicious hot spring boiled egg in the natural hot waters! After learning the perfect boiling time, how does this delicacy taste?
You can also relax at the nearby foot bath until your egg is boiled to perfection.
We then discover a wonderful retro coffee shop serving siphon coffee, and enjoy it with an exquisite Katsu-Sandwich (deep fried pork cutlet), thick and juicy with amazingly thick bread as well. What a perfect lunch!
At Koganeyu, after enjoying the hot springs, we meet and are moved by a wine owner’s passion for his trade, hearing the story of his dream coming true.
Last but not least, we visit Hokeikyo Hot springs, and indulge in their famous Indian curry. MCs Isis and Li Qiang have no doubt that this curry is well-known, because the view, the dish and its flavors, and most of all the smile of the chefs; all make it a meal to remember.
Watch this episode, and you will want to come to Jozankei area more than just once!
